Barack Obama Admits to High School Drug, Alcohol Use

In an interview at a Manchester, Mass. High School 2008 presidential candidate Barack Obama admitted to the class he was addressing that his own High School years did contain some drug and alcohol use. Not minutes after this remark, some other candidates as well a political pundits lambasted Obama for, as Mitt Romney put it “influencing kids to experiment with drugs and alcohol.” Finally a candidate who gives an honest answer to an honest question. This comment certainly has a few more people taking a look at Senator Obama this morning–and for good reason. Americans are fed up with political condescension and maybe for a brief moment viewers saw a snippet of honesty instead status quo mudslinging. Which is admittedly better than the preponderance of the meaning of the word “it” floating around the public discourse.
